**About the Role**
As we expand our global footprint, we’re looking for a seasoned **Controller** to lead our accounting function and help scale financial operations across multiple regions. In this critical role, you’ll manage the company’s financial close, reporting, compliance, and control functions, while playing a key role in a **company-wide ERP migration** and supporting cross-border business growth. This is a rare opportunity to shape the finance foundation of a rapidly growing streaming company entering new international markets.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Global Financial Operations & Reporting**
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process across multiple entities and currencies
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with **US GAAP or IFRS**, and local statutory requirements in key markets
- Coordinate local compliance efforts, including tax filings, audits, and statutory reporting with in-country partners
**ERP Migration & Systems Leadership**
- ** Lead or support a global ERP migration**, ensuring system alignment with multi-entity, multi-currency, and subscription revenue environments
- Define accounting workflows, data integrity checks, and automation processes across all business units
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Operations to integrate financial systems with business platforms
**Revenue & Subscription Accounting**
- Oversee global revenue recognition policies (e.g., ASC 606 or equivalent), including subscription, advertising, and content licensing revenue streams
- Work with Data and Billing teams to ensure platform usage and customer data flows cleanly into financial systems
**Internal Controls & Process Standardization**
- Implement and monitor Sarbanes-Oxley compliant internal controls across regions, ensuring compliance and reducing operational & financial risk
- Create scalable accounting processes to support growth in new markets
- Evaluate and improve cash management, intercompany transactions, and FX exposure
**Treasury Management**
- Ensure on time payments and cash monitoring & prioritization to ensure proper business liquidity.
- Work with banking relationships & process to increase efficiency in cash management and FX translation impacts.
- Manage in-country cash, FX, and bank set-ups to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
**Strategic Finance Support**
- Partner with FP&A on budgeting, cash forecasting, and financial scenario planning
- Support new market entry with financial modeling, local accounting setup, and cross-border compliance guidance
- Provide strategic insight into operational KPIs, revenue trends, and content investment ROI
**Team Building & Leadership**
- Support the long-term organizational design to ensure proper team resourcing with a balanced understanding of fiscal priorities
- Hire, mentor, and lead a growing international accounting team
- Promote a culture of transparency, accuracy, and continuous improvement
**Qualifications**
- ** Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
- ** Experience**:
- 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership or Controller role
- ** Demonstrated success in ERP implementation/migration**, ideally in a global, multi-entity environment
- Experience in digital media, streaming, SaaS, or subscription-based business models
- Track record of managing accounting across multiple jurisdictions (e.g., North America, LATAM, EMEA, APAC)
- ** Technical Skills**:
- In-Depth understanding of US GAAP/IFRS, ASC 606, and multi-entity consolidations
- Expertise with ERP systems (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP), and billing platforms (e.g., Zuora)
- Advanced Excel and strong financial systems acumen
- ** Soft Skills**:
- Speaks multiple languages with Portuguese and English as the strongest
- Excellent leadership and project management skills
- Clear, confident communicator with cross-cultural awareness
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
