Senior Project Manager Solar

Local Unit & Position Description:DNV has a wide experience in consulting in the Brazilian solar industry, providing since 2012, a diverse range of services, including prospection of new areas, measurement campaign monitoring, energy production assessments for ANEEL auctions and financing, assessment of solar farm operation, due diligences and Owners Engineering services.DNV is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated solar expert to join our team in Porto Alegre and be part of an International Team of Solar Experts providing independent and owners engineering/advisory services to our Customer.The position is a full-time position that reports to the Solar Team Leader of Latin-America who is located in Porto Alegre.As an independent advisor, the Senior Solar Engineer will spend the majority of the time conducting direct project work for clients, in addition to supporting business development and in-house research projects.**Responsibilities**:- Project Manager. The Senior Solar Engineer will be responsible for managing teams of engineers during the execution of independent engineering services for solar Projects. The role will require the preparation and delivery of presentations, as well as direct contact with the Customers- Direct Project work. As part of the daily work, it is expected that the Senior Solar Engineer will be involved in technical advisory tasks which may include project analysis, energy assessment, technology and design review, project contracts analysis and project finance understanding.- Commercial and Sales. The Solar Engineer will provide support to the Solar Team Leader on tracking business opportunities, market intelligence, develop services according to Industry needs and preparation of proposals;- Research and Development. Propose and be involved in internal R&D Projects related to the solar business.Position Qualifications:- 5+ years of professional experience in the solar sector (preferable in consultancy or engineering companies);- Experience in technical due diligence processes which may include but is not limited to: site assessment, system design, energy estimates, equipment selection, contracts review and project finance;- Experience must also include a working knowledge of solar PV related regulations, codes and standards;- Experience with IEC and other relevant certifications in the industry;- Experience on Project Acceptance tests and commissioning procedures;Familiar with typical equipment for site inspections (thermographic cameras, I-V curve tracers);- Spanish communications skills is nice to have;- Lead and support independent qualitative and quantitative analysis;- Willingness to travel across the country and internationally;- Ability to work independently, with an internal team, and with external partner organizations;- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;- Familiarity with PVsyst as well as other energy simulation software;- Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering or similar;- Master’s degree preferred; and- Valid driving License.Company & Business Area Description:DNV is the independent expert in assurance and risk management, operating in more than 100 countries.
