Working together to push boundaries, we combine the best of our talents to unlock innovation. To strengthen our team, we are looking to fill the position of Medical Science Liaison Rare Diseases . ResponsibilitiesCultivate strong scientific relationships with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Payers, and possess an in-depth understanding of UCB solutions, ensuring the appropriate therapeutic solutions are matched with the right patients at the appropriate times. Stay up-to-date with the latest scientific advancements, clinical research, and developments in Rare Diseases treatments. Swift and proactive identification and supervision of significant scientific and medical influencers, guided by the dynamics of the local healthcare environment and the needs and motivations of stakeholders. Explore and pinpoint fresh avenues for enhancing patient well-being, including innovative solutions and services. Oversee and generate data related to products and disease states, including Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS), audits, and Real-World Evidence (RWE). Provide assistance for clinical research projects, clinical development endeavors, and share insights with the Medical Solutions Team and Scientific Lead. Act as the foremost local scientific authority in specific therapeutic domains. Assist market access colleagues as needed in presenting RWE, HEOR, and clinical information to regional and local payer accounts and formularies, including public consultation. Comply with administrative work to record interactions with HCPs and field activities. Develop and comply with a tactic plan aligned with the medical strategy (i.e. scientific interactions aligned with the strategy). Comply with the budget assigned to the MSL territory. Primary Expected OutcomesAssist HCPs, patients or families, and local payers in delivering optimal care that enhances UCB's value proposition in specific territories. Provide scientific expertise and analysis for strategic initiatives in collaboration with other local roles. Internally share knowledge, innovation opportunities, and patient needs within the organization. Leverage Real-World Evidence (RWE) to strengthen the value of UCB solutions for patients. Comply with local KPIs set for the role. Important InterfacesHCPs All other internal/external stakeholders (payers, consensus leads, etc.) Enabling medical roles (Scientific Lead) Part of local/regional multidisciplinary team Local affiliate governance committees RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Life sciences, Pharmacy, or Medicine, etc. Desirable Master’s and Ph.D. Experience in MSL position (Rare Disease and/or High Specialty products).
