Job Description

As an Embedded Linux Engineer, you will be part of the R&D team developing our Torizon OS: an easy-and-ready-to-use Linux-based operating system supported on Toradex hardware and 3rd party hardware. You will focus on maintaining our open source OpenEmbedded/Yocto layers, and maintaining the Toradex BSP. You will help maintain and expand our automated build and tests to guarantee the high level of quality of Toradex software.

  • Maintain and add support for Torizon OS on different SoC platforms (NXP, TI and more to come).
  • Coordinate with other R&D teams to ensure Toradex's full stack approach.
  • Maintain and expand automated build and test cases for Torizon OS.
  • Continuously improve DevOps best practices.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Mandatory:
    • Experience with OpenEmbedded/Yocto and its best practices
    • Experience in Embedded Linux and Embedded Systems
    • Advanced Linux knowledge
    • Intermediate Docker knowledge
    • Proactive and good communication
  • Nice to have:
    • Contributions to FOSS projects
    • Contributions to Debian
  • Willing to learn:
    • How to debug OS/embedded system/software in various languages
    • Best practices on build automation and test setup (CI/CD, DevOps)
    • Writing automated tests
