Linux Environment Expert

Your role and responsibilities will involve leading production and project support for Linux environments, managing installations, patching, migrations, and scripting using Shell and Perl.

  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues across various operating systems including Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, and AIX.
  • Optimize system performance and availability to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Coach and mentor team members to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with ITIL-based tools and monitoring systems to streamline processes.

Key Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in Linux and Unix systems, with a deep understanding of filesystems, volumes, and storage management.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, clustering (PCS), and system hardening.
  • Familiarity with SAN/NAS, backup tools (TSM, VEEAM), and storage suites (EMC, NetApp, Hitachi).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and non-standard hours.
  • Advanced English language proficiency.

Bonus Points:

  • Linux certification.
  • German language skills.
  • Experience with Veritas Cluster, Apache, DNS, DHCP, LDAP.
