Senior Calibration Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Calibration Engineer to join our powertrain engineering team and contribute to the development of efficient, sustainable, and innovative solutions.

Senior Calibration Engineer

AVL South America is the world's largest independent company for the development, simulation, and testing of propulsion systems (hybrids, combustion engines, transmission, electric drive, batteries, fuel cell, and control technology) for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, construction, large engines, and their integration into the vehicle.

We are looking for a Senior Calibration Engineer to join our powertrain engineering team and contribute to the development of efficient, sustainable, and innovative solutions.



YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Calibrate and optimize engine control systems (injection, ignition, torque, emissions, cold start, etc.)
  • Perform dynamometer and vehicle tests, analyzing and interpreting data
  • Adjust calibration maps using tools such as ETAS INCA, CANape, MDA, among others
  • Work with software, hardware, validation, and certification teams
  • Support homologation processes and compliance with standards (e.g., Proconve L8, Euro 6)


YOUR PROFILE:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related areas with active CREA

Experience with calibration of Otto cycle, Diesel, or hybrid engines (minimum 5 years)

Mastery of tools such as INCA, MDA, CANalyzer, Matlab/Simulink

Knowledge of emissions standards and vehicle protocols (CAN, LIN)

Fluent technical English


Differentials

Experience with hybrid or electric vehicles

Postgraduate degree in Powertrain, Embedded Systems, or similar

Experience with OBD, AUTOSAR, and vehicle control strategies

Participation in certification projects (Brazil or abroad)
