Senior Data Engineer at Handoff We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and scale our data infrastructure. You will design and maintain data pipelines, data models, and analytics workflows to ensure reliable, high-quality data across our platform. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work with tools like Airflow , AWS Athena , Metabase , and SQL to ensure our team - from Product to Operations - has clean, reliable data to make smarter decisions. What you'll do Design, implement, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow . Develop data models across the Medallion Architecture layers to support analytics and reporting. Optimize SQL queries for large datasets in AWS Athena and other relational systems. Build and maintain dashboards and BI workflows using Metabase . Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Analytics teams to define startup metrics and KPIs. Ensure data quality, governance, and reproducibility across the data warehouse/lake. Establish best practices for data engineering and analytics. About you Bachelor’sorMaster’sdegreeinComputerScience,DataScience,orarelatedfield. 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles. Strong SQL expertise with experience tuning queries and designing efficient schemas. Hands‑on experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration. Familiarity with AWS services , especially Athena, S3, Glue, and Redshift. Experience building analytics dashboards with Metabase or similar BI tools. Understanding of Medallion Architecture and layered data pipelines. Strong understanding of startup/product metrics and how to translate them into analytics workflows. Proficiency in Python for data engineering and ETL tasks. Collaborative and able to work cross‑functionally with product and business teams. What we offer Competitivesalary in USD
