- Implement User Interface new features and optimize existing ones focusing on the state-of-the-art UX practices.
- Write, own and evangelize automated testing of developed code.
- Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from product management, interaction designers, and other engineering teams (platform, mobile, quality).
- Pro-actively identify ways to make TripIt more robust, scalable, and user-friendly.
- Help delivering distributed systems using AWS native services and best practices such as infrastructure as code, zero-downtime production deployments, frequent deployments, and be responsible for their services.
- Work with fellow full-stack engineers and suggest innovations and improvements to infrastructure, architecture, and process.
Required:
- Bachelor's/Master's Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) required.
- Good professional software engineering experience.
- Experience with frontend frameworks such as Vue or React is a plus.
- Experience with server-side web frameworks (Python/Django or PHP/Symfony preferred)
Desired:
- Knowledge of one or more relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres, or Aurora) and familiarity with one or more NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices, compliance, open-source technologies, frameworks, and a broad array AWS tools and services.
- Experience using Docker containers, Continuous Delivery and deploying on cloud infrastructure (e.g., CloudFormation on AWS) is highly desired.
- Familiarity with common security tools and compliance standards that impact software development and runtime reliability.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication with ability to explain complex technical concepts with ease across an organization.
- Experience in Travel Technology or consumer facing apps is a huge plus.
