We are looking for a skilled Laravel Engineer with MySQL tuning experience to join our rapidly growing team. This remote role is focused on LATAM regions and offers the opportunity to contribute to challenging projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. What We Are Looking For4+ years of experience with Laravel, specifically Laravel 8 and above, demonstrating a deep understanding of the framework's architecture and capabilities. Expertise in MySQL database performance optimization, with a proven ability to identify and resolve complex database bottlenecks. Strong hands-on experience in writing, optimizing, and debugging complex SQL queries, especially for applications handling large and growing datasets. This includes understanding EXPLAIN plans, indexing strategies (including composite indexes), and query rewriting techniques. Proficiency with database schema design and normalization/denormalization strategies to ensure scalability and data integrity, particularly for high-volume transactions. Experience with Eloquent ORM and Laravel Query Builder, and understanding how these tools generate SQL and how to optimize the underlying queries for performance. Experience working in complex large-scale multitenant SaaS applications. Solid experience with Laravel Authentication and implementing robust security practices in backend systems. Experience with testing tools, such as Pest PHP and PHPUnit, to ensure code quality and reliability. Proficiency in designing and implementing robust, scalable RESTful APIs in Laravel, focusing on performance and data efficiency. Experience with ReactJS is a plus. Ability to take extreme ownership over your work and to meet agreed-upon estimates and processes. Ability to align with Bluelight's clients' goals and deliver on commitments. A positive mindset and a can-do attitude. Forensic attention to detail. ResponsibilitiesThis position emphasizes backend engineering and database optimization within Laravel environments, including: Developing and maintaining Laravel applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability. Analyzing and tuning MySQL queries, indexes, and schema to improve response times and throughput. Designing robust RESTful APIs and integrating with frontend components as needed. Collaborating in a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality software solutions for multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
