**The Role**:The Power Trader will be responsible for managing power positions and execute power transactions. The professional will also be accountable to develop trading strategies according to market fundamental analysis and market conditions. This role will be one of the Commercial Trading Focal Point for Shell Energy Brazil’s functions support: Operations, Risk, Credit and Finance. The role will also be required to support and optimize a portfolio of renewable generation and be responsible for timely, accurate deal entry on all transactions.**Accountabilities**:- Adhering to Shell’s Business Principles, market Regulations, and contributing to and maintaining a culture of Compliance- Delivery of aggressive annual trade book gross margin targets- Trading power in Brazil in daily, balance of month, and years ahead- Act as a representative of Trading activities for Shell in Brazil- Collaboration with gas and power trading, operations, and sales/origination teams- Facilitating Customer transactions and assisting in customer management with the Sales and Origination team- Contributing to and ensuring alignment with Shell Energy Brazil and Shell Energy Americas’ overall goals and strategies- Interacting with other support functions in the organization such as Finance, Credit, Legal, Compliance, and Market Risk- Support development of future SEB trading and origination staff- Accurate deal entry, position management, and PnL delivery and reconciliation within the Shell Trading Network’s control framework- Knowledge of the Brazilian Power market and an understanding of the fundamentals that drive it- Developing trading strategies and working with other team members to develop a long-term trading strategy with a bottom-line focus on profitability**Skills & Requirements**- Minimum of 5 years of related role experience; preferably in power trading- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Business, Finance, or related field- Experience with South American weather forecasting and patterns.- Experience with counterparties transacting in the Brazilian ACL ‘Free Market’- Trading experience in power markets on both physical and financial transactions- Must have legal authorization to work in Brazil on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer**Disclaimer
