ITTConnect seeks a Senior Server Administrator to work remotely for a client in the US. This is a long-term position with a global leader in consulting, digital transformation, technology, and engineering services present in nearly 50 countries.

Job Description:

The end client operates in the retail/food services/technology area. We are looking for an experienced Senior Server Administrator to set up and configure Tableau servers on various on-prem and cloud platforms (AWS preferred). The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of Tableau architecture, including workbooks, data sources, extract refresh schedules, and server maintenance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setup and configure Tableau servers on various on-prem and cloud platforms
  • Experience with server upgrades and parameter changes
  • Proficiency in connecting Tableau to different data sources and extracting data from these sources
  • Manage user permissions, security, and access within Tableau environments
  • Troubleshoot Tableau performance issues and optimize dashboards
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Minimum 10 years of IT experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Tableau Servers
  • Strong understanding of Tableau architecture, including workbooks, data sources, extract refresh schedules, and server maintenance
  • Knowledge of Tableau Server features, including scheduling, content management, and server configuration
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) to troubleshoot data-related issues
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or batch scripting for automating administrative tasks is a plus
  • Understanding of data governance concepts and experience implementing data security measures in Tableau
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS) is a plus but not required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to explain and understand problems effectively
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills
