Your Mission This role sits at the heart of our design‑led mobile team, focused on rebuilding the core travel flows across the app to deliver a unified, mobile‑first experience. You’ll collaborate closely with the existing platform team, leveraging their foundation while reimagining how customers search, book, and manage travel on mobile. Using React Native (with the flexibility to tap into native iOS/Android controls where needed), you’ll help support the growth of our mobile application in developing feature components that delight our customers. Design and Implement: Take ownership of developing, and deploying high‑quality, customer‑facing mobile features for our core travel flows using React Native. You will be the technical driver for redesigning the user experience to achieve a best‑in‑class, mobile‑first application. Optimize: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory issues, and rendering inconsistencies unique to mobile devices and operating systems. Ensure exceptional application speed, responsiveness, and a unified aesthetic that meets modern mobile UX/UI standards. Ensure Cross‑Platform Consistency and Quality: Implement robust, pixel‑perfect UI components across both iOS and Android platforms, ensuring high cross‑platform consistency without sacrificing native feel. Drive rigorous testing (unit, integration, and UI testing) to guarantee the stability and reliability of all new and redesigned features. Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers and Designers to translate mockups and user stories into functional, shippable code. Act as a strong individual contributor who can autonomously drive features through the entire software development lifecycle—from scoping and design to production deployment and monitoring. Utilize Native Capabilities for Deep Integration: Leverage your knowledge of underlying native iOS and/or Android capabilities to troubleshoot complex platform‑specific issues, integrate custom native modules (where required), and ensure seamless access to device features that enhance the user experience. What You'll Bring to Engine We’re looking for someone who’s ready to make an impact and grow alongside us. Experience: 5+ years of experience working on mobile customer‑facing applications. Skills: Strong experience with React Native and TypeScript. Tech‑Savvy: Bonus points if you’re fluent in iOS or Android development.
