Overview:

The Technical Writer Engineer will be responsible for developers, and other subject matter experts to gather data, create technical documentation, and write technical reports for all Telit's products. Create customer documentation for a wide range of technologies including modems, Edge Gateways, IoT Portal, and Cloud interfaces. This position requires extensive skills and experience in preparing technical drawings and details flow diagrams of software programs. The Technical writer will train and investigate customer complaints to understand the nature and scope of issues.

Responsibilities

• Confer with engineers, developers, and other subject matter experts to gather data, create technical documentation, and write technical reports for all Telit's products
• Create customer documentation for a wide range of technologies including modems, Edge Gateways, IoT Portal, and Cloud interfaces
• Prepare technical drawings and detailed specifications
• Create flow diagrams describing software logic
• Prepare customer documentation plans
• Follow and improve development processes for technical documentation
• Understand source code samples in GO/Java
• Utilize distributed source code management systems such as Git
• Test and develop content, including SDK/ API reference manuals, user guides, online help on DITA standards, and various guides for different audiences
• Train other members of Telit's technical staff
• Create technical documentation processes
• Train employees on our technical documentation process
• Conduct testing of Telit's developed Application Programming Interface test cases and confirm test cases are working as expected
• Understand GO language or equivalent
• Develop API documentation based on GO code
• Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for teams within US and Global teams.
• Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience as an information development engineer, software developer, technical writer, or related electronics engineering role.
• Experience must include creating technical customer documents for a wide variety of products.
• Candidates should understand programming languages and tools used to create those products.
• Hands-on experience with GO, HTML/CSS, Java, Javascript, C Java, and Visual Studio.
• Documentation Tools : Adobe FrameMaker PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator, MadCap Flare, oXygen, Help & Manual, CMS - Astoria, MOSS, RoboHelp, XMLSpy, Camtasia, XMetaL, SnagIT, MS Visio, DITA, DTD, Conversion tables (CT), EDD and Templates, XML, XSLT, SGML.
