Technical Writer

Overview: Algoseek is seeking a Technical Writer – Financial Documentation to create clear, structured, and comprehensive documentation for our datasets and APIs. This role requires both technical precision and financial knowledge, turning complex data and APIs into content that is accurate, accessible, and client-friendly. You will work closely with developers, data engineers, and product teams to ensure consistency, clarity, and usability across all documentation. Role Details: Location: 100% Remote (Global Team) Job Type: Full-time Compensation: Competitive, with additional growth opportunities Responsibilities: Develop and maintain clear, accurate, and structured documentation for financial APIs, datasets, and schemas. Create detailed descriptions of datasets, fields, parameters, and references with consistent terminology. Explain complex financial concepts (market data, instruments, indicators) in simple, client-friendly language . Provide usage examples (sample queries, API calls, JSON responses) for APIs and datasets. Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and product managers to gather technical details. Define and enforce documentation standards, style guides, and consistency across products. Continuously improve documentation based on feedback from clients and internal teams. Essential Requirements: Proven experience as a Technical Writer, Data Documentation Specialist, or related role . Strong understanding of APIs, datasets, data models, and JSON structures . Background in finance or trading , with knowledge of instruments, market data, or financial reporting. Excellent written English with the ability to simplify complex technical and financial concepts. Ability to structure and organize large sets of documentation logically and consistently . Skilled at collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, data, QA). Desirable Requirements: Experience with API documentation tools (e.G., OpenAPI). Familiarity with data modeling tools and metadata management. Basic knowledge of Python . Understanding of developer experience and user-centered documentation design. Prior work in fintech, data providers, or market intelligence platforms . Ability to create visual aids (ER diagrams, data flow charts, architecture overviews). Work Hours: Flexible remote setup with required availability for critical U.S. market overlap hours .
