As Curriculum Manager, you will research industry best practices, translate insights into structured modules, and oversee the end-to-end delivery of lessons, worksheets, and assignments. Your success will be measured by how effectively the curriculum accelerates student wins, improves engagement, and generates success stories. This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives on deadlines, values outcomes over theory, and is motivated by helping aspiring engineers break into tech careers. Role Responsibilities Consistent Release of ModulesShip 1 new training module every 2 weeks. Each module includes clear lessons, worksheets, assignments, grading criteria, and is fully ready to upload. Faster Student WinsStudents who use new modules should get their first interview faster (about 1-2 weeks quicker than before). Higher Student EngagementMore students should complete the “first win” tasks in their first week (for example, reaching out to recruiters, getting responses, or passing a coding screen). Target: at least 20% more students completing first-week tasks compared to before. Student Success StoriesCollect at least 3 new testimonials or case studies every month that directly tie back to the modules you create. Freeing the Founder’s TimeReduce the founder’s role in curriculum work to 1-2 hours per week (mainly reviewing and recording, not creating from scratch). Student “first wins”: At least 20% more students completing first-week tasks. Faster results: Students get first interviews 7-14 days faster. Student satisfaction: 90%+ rate modules highly useful. Testimonials: 3+ per month from students tied to new content. Founder time saved: ≤ 2 hrs/week on curriculum. Competencies Delivers on DeadlinesAlways ships modules on time, even if imperfect at first. Values progress and iteration over perfection. Understands the Hiring GameKnows what actually gets students hired (not just theory). Filters out “fluff” and focuses on skills and steps that lead to real interviews. Strong Research & Listening SkillsCan interview engineers, recruiters, and students to uncover gaps. Turns these insights into structured training. Clear Writing & Teaching AbilityCommunicates ideas simply and logically. Can create outlines and lesson flows that others (editors, designers) can polish. Leadership Without EgoCan coordinate freelancers (instructional designer, video editor) without being difficult to work with. Takes ownership of the final product. Proof-OrientedEvery module is designed to create a visible “win” that can be measured and turned into testimonials. Protects Founder’s TimeReduces reliance on the founder for content creation by handling the heavy lifting. Cultural Fit Ownership: Believes “done” means “shipped, live, and working.” Practicality: Prefers useful outcomes over endless polishing. Curiosity: Loves asking better questions and digging into how hiring really works. Mission Alignment: Motivated by helping students land great jobs in tech. Low Ego: Willing to do both strategic work and hands-on tasks. Evidence-Based: Uses results and student wins to prove value. Ideal Background Has at least 3-5 years of relevant experience with one of the following:Software Engineering Background: 1-3 years as a full-time SWE or intern at a real company, with experience mentoring, leading onboarding, or helping junior engineers.
