Agriculture Segment Products I Irrigation Equipment and Parts : Valmont manufactures and distributes mechanical irrigation equipment and related service parts under the Valley brand name. Valley Irrigation is the worldwide leader in precision irrigation. This brand of center pivot, linear and corner equipment provides solutions for conserving water and meeting the growing demand for food. It has already nearly 250.000 center pivots irrigating crops around the world.
LOCATION: The position is located in General Rodríguez, Buenos Aires province (3:2 hybrid work schedule).
REPORT: The General Manager will supervise the local team of approx. 40 people, and will report directly to the President, International Agriculture and in a dotted line to a Valmont Director (shareholder) in Argentina.
ABRIEF SUMMARY OF THIS POSITION:
The General Manager is responsible for all operations of Valley Irrigation Argentina, including supply chain, sales, service, accounting/finance, dealer development, and related activities in a profitable manner, while maintaining a moral and ethical standard of business conduct consistent with Valmont Industries code.
The General Manager develops and implements an annual budget consistent with the intent of the corporation and in accordance with corporate guidelines. With emphasis on profitability and return on investment, the manager plans, organizes and controls a business plan that not only gives a fair return to its owners, but also provides fair compensation to the company's employees, assures a safe and healthy working environment with proper staffing levels and adequate training for the job.
The General Manager is responsible for creating and implementing sales programs assigned. The Manager shares responsibility for the product-line profitability through local promotion and development activities for Argentina, working in coordination with territory representatives, parts, service, and marketing support.
Essential Functions include:
- Manage all operations of the business in Argentina including sales, supply chain, service, installation, accounting/finance, dealer development, business development and bottom-line profitability.
- Maximize the coverage, margins, customer satisfaction and brand image within the assigned territory to ensure sales and distribution of Valmont irrigation, solar or other future products from Valmont product line.
- Develop short, mid and long term strategy.
- Develop a professional sales, parts and service organization which is capable of marketing Valley products and maintaining the degree of customer satisfaction expected of a Valley dealership.
- Attract, retain and develop essential talents to Valmont's growth.
- Attend meetings and prepare presentations.
THE CANDIDATE
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (ideally Agriculture Engineer). MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- With 7+ years relevant experience, including 5 within agricultural SALES, preferably in multinational companies, in the seed, agrochemical and irrigation industries .
- Experience leading teams of at least 30 people .
- Exceptionally motivated, entrepreneurial driven.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Talent to provide strategic leadership to the organization.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing commercial strategies, leading high-performing teams, and driving revenue growth.
- Ability to understand, oversee and direct the utilization of financial analysis in the evaluation of current and potential business.
- A clear understanding of regulatory, societal and economic drivers and their impact on the business unit.
- Ability to work independently and cohesively with other departments within the company as well as with dealers and suppliers.
- Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
The candidate must reside in Buenos Aires, and be available to travel locally as needed, and internationally up to 10% of the time (2 to 3 trips abroad- to headquarters- in the year).
