This position focuses on backend development — building and optimizing custom Word Press plugins, APIs, and integrations for large-scale, high-performance websites.The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of Word Press internals, experience working with enterprise clients, and a strong understanding of scalable, maintainable code.ResponsibilitiesDesign and developcustom Word Press pluginsand themes from scratch using PHP, My SQL, and modern best practices.Implementadvanced custom fields (ACF) ,custom post types , andtaxonomiesfor structured data management.Optimize database queries and improve performance across complex Word Press sites (meta queries, caching, indexing).Integrate Word Press withthird-party APIsand automation tools (REST, webhook systems, Make/Zapier, Algolia, etc.).Develop and maintaincron jobs , background tasks, and data synchronization scripts.Build and maintainGutenberg blocksor React-based admin components when required.Ensure sites meetperformance, accessibility, and SEO standards(Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals).Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, Dev Ops, QA, design) followingAgilepractices.Write clean, well-documented, andunit-testedcode following OOP principles and Word Press coding standards.Minimum Qualifications5+ years of professional Word Press development experience , focusing on backend and custom plugin work.Strong proficiency inPHP, My SQL, HTML, CSS, and Java Script.Experience withWord Press hooks (actions & filters) , custom queries, and optimization strategies.Proficient inACF ,CPT UI ,Gutenberg , andWoo Commerce.Solid understanding ofWord Press REST API ,webhooks , andAPI integrations.Familiarity withversion control (Git)andCI/CD pipelines.Experience withperformance optimization , caching mechanisms, and scalable Word Press architectures.Advanced written and spokenEnglish(international client communication required).Benefits- Yearly Office Allowance Budget- Macbook Purchase Support- Wellbeing SupportIf you think that you are a good fit for the position, please apply through Linked In.Only CVs that are in English will be accepted.Flatiron Software Co has a zero tolerance to discrimination policy.
