If you are passionate about making a real difference and want to contribute to a mission-driven organization that is changing the world, JUMP Math is the place for you.As a Lead Engineer, you will be a hands-on technical leader responsible for building, reviewing, and maintaining the core systems of the JUMP Math platform. You will ensure that both our application and AI engine are robust, scalable, and maintainable. You will lead and collaborate closely with the engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and ensuring the team is aligned and effective. You will also work closely with Product and Design to drive the platform forward.This is a full-time role (37.5 hours/week).Location of Work: This candidate for this role must be residing inBraziland is intended to be remote.Key Accountabilities:Own and deliver high-quality code across the full stack (frontend, backend, and AI integration)Lead and mentor a development team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environmentConduct code reviews and maintain coding standards to ensure maintainability and reliabilityManage Dev Ops tasks including deployment pipelines, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and scalingDesign and implement APIs, and integrate with third-party servicesEnsure security, performance, and reliability of the platform in production environmentsTroubleshoot and resolve critical technical issues across the stack and optimize codeParticipate in architecture decisions and recommend improvements to the platform designCollaborate with the Machine Learning team to integrate AI question generation and scaffolding into the platformContribute to defining accessibility standards and compliance (data protection, privacy, and security in educational environments)Coordinate with distributed teams across different time zones, ensuring clear and efficient communicationSkills:Skilled in code review, system architecture, and software best practicesProficiency in backend languages and frontend frameworksExcellent problem-solving, communication, leadership and collaboration skillsHigh level of Spanish and EnglishArtificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: Familiarity with Generative AI (Chat GPT, Prompting, APIs, Fine-tuning) and Machine Learning algorithms (Python)Personal Attributes:Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProactive and adaptable to a fast-paced and dynamic environmentCommitment to social mission and inclusive educationEducation and Experience (minimums):5+ years of software engineering experience with full-stack developmentStrong experience in Dev Ops / cloud infrastructure (AWS, CI/CD pipelines)Experience in projects using PHP (Laravel), React. JS, Next. JSKnowledge of data security and regulatory compliance (GDPR, FERPA, or other relevant frameworks)Experience with databases (eg.
