About the opportunity: We are looking for a skilled developer with experience in Ruby on Rails or other ODD languages or frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a computer science degree and at least 5 years of experience, although a solid candidate with 2-3 years of experience and Ruby on Rails experience in operational tasks may also be considered. Key skills and qualifications include: PostgreSQL Kafka Event Sourcing QA experience - quality assurance by the developers Fullstack (70% back + 30% front) US - Atlantic time zone - PST or EST Excellent communication, verbal and written - English Responsibilities: As a senior developer, you will be responsible for: Building production-ready web applications and systems Designing and implementing reusable components and component libraries Collaborating with the team to solve problems and improve processes Participating in testing practices and continuous improvement Requirements: 3-5+ years of software engineering experience Strong communication skills Understanding of building production-ready web applications and systems Passionate about testing practices and continuous improvement Experience with any of Elixir, Erlang, Ruby, JavaScript, NextJS , or another programming language Familiarity with common programming tools such as IDEs, RESTful APIs, Git repositories, TypeScript, version control software, and remote deployment tools Bachelor of Computer Science degree or equivalent experience Familiarity with event-based architectures, database fundamentals and GraphQL Enthusiasm for solving problems for our users with technology Curiosity about retail/e-commerce, the high-end consignment market, and/or how to create a sustainable, circular economy for luxury goods Avenue Code reinforces its commitment to privacy and to all the principles guaranteed by the most accurate global data protection laws, such as GDPR, LGPD, CCPA and CPRA.
