Job Description

Responsibilities:

1. Ensures all work follows safe work practices and fire procedures
2. Responds immediately to all work requests which concern Health and Safety
3. Responds to guest requests promptly in a professional and courteous manner
4. Operates, maintains and repairs all electrical related equipment
5. Ensures the optimum performance of all electrical related equipment by effectively following the preventive maintenance and the shift readings programs
6. Evaluates and appropriately responds to equipment usage and energy efficiency
7. Completes all work orders with due diligence
8. Maintains a daily log book highlighting problems and solutions; and activities
9. Maintains all electrical shop drawings
10. Maintains equipment catalog and tagging directories
11. Actively participates in the monthly departmental meeting by providing feedback and offering suggestions for improvement
12. Completes tasks as assigned by Assistant Director, Engineering and Director Engineering
13. Maintains health and safety documentation and records for the assigned area
14. Reports and documents potential safety hazards
15. Participates as directed in the emergency response team

Qualifications:

1. Minimum High School graduate with a related technical or trade certification
2. Minimum 2 years experience as a service technician in the hospitality industry, previous supervisory experience an asset
3. Proficient in building operation electrical repair and maintenance plus basic knowledge of other building operations skill set
4. The ability to use all general repair tools, read shop drawings and specifications and make rough estimates of required materials
5. Good communication skills
6. Physical ability to perform the assigned duties
7. Experience working in the UAE is an asset
8. Must be a self-starter, who can work independently and will take initiative
9. Must be creative, practical and have a pro-active approach to problem solving
