Location & Remote Work
Our technology team operates under a "remote-first" model, which means we work from home and can live anywhere in Brazil. We also offer the option of working from our São Paulo offices or partner coworking spaces, up to twice a week.

Responsibilities
Senior Software Engineer responsibilities at QuintoAndar:

• Develop independent (micro-)services that address specific solutions;
• Responsible for the entire lifecycle of their code;
• Contribute not only with your immediate team's challenges but with the whole product team by sharing inputs/code;
• Improve the development experience by enhancing development tools, test coverage, and/or code structure;
• Participate actively in discussions and decisions of software design. Build and help create documentation;
• Create scalable, maintainable and user driven solutions. Technologies used include Java, SQL databases, Polymer, MongoDB, micro-services in Java/Python/Node/Clojure, React, and Datomic. You don’t need to know all upfront, but you will have space to learn and improve;
• Help organize software architecture to harmonically orchestrate our services architecture.

Requirements

• Proficiency in at least one programming language and relational databases;
• Experience using RESTful APIs;
• People who are eager to learn and deliver real impact through high-quality data-driven software, valuing work-life balance;
• Fluency in Portuguese and knowledge of English — we usually use English to write code, documentation, tools, reference materials, and sometimes to talk to partners and co-workers from other countries;
• Excellent English skills (verbal and written) is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of computer theory, including optimization of algorithms and distributed systems;
• Experience developing scalable client-server mobile applications;
• Experience with cloud service platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.);
• Understanding of modern CD/CI workflows;
• Knowledge of containers and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes);
• Ability to test and tune scalability;
• Understanding that work is ongoing and services continually evolve.

Seniority & Hiring
Seniority Level: Mid-Senior level. Although described as Senior Software Engineer, you can apply even if you don’t consider yourself senior. We value qualified talent and will reach out if you can contribute to our teams, regardless of current title.
