Financial Controller – BrazilLocation:Rio de Janeiro Employment Type:Permanent | Full-timeRole Overview A global financial services organisation is seeking a qualified Financial Controller to take full ownership of statutory, management, and operational finance for its Brazil entity. This is a standalone senior finance role with end-to-end accountability for financial control, regulatory compliance, reporting accuracy, systems optimisation, and cross-border financial governance.The position operates as the primary financial authority for Brazil, acting as the key interface with global finance leadership, external auditors, tax authorities, and regional stakeholders. The role requires deep technical accounting expertise within aregulated, multi-currency, international environment, alongside hands-on ownership of financial systems, controls, and transformation initiatives.Key Responsibilities Full ownership of end-to-end finance operations for the Brazil entity, covering general ledger, AP, AR, fixed assets, cash and balance sheet integrity. Production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis, KPI reporting and financial performance commentary. End-to-end responsibility for statutory reporting, including preparation and submission of annual financial statements and all federal and state tax filings. Ownership of the month-end and year-end close process, including journals, reconciliations, balance sheet substantiation and audit readiness. Development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of internal controls to ensure compliance with group policies, local regulation and audit standards. Lead the full external audit process, acting as primary point of contact for auditors and resolving technical accounting and control issues. Oversight of transfer pricing, intercompany accounting and international tax compliance in partnership with central tax teams. Drive finance process improvement, automation and system optimisation across record-to-report, procure-to-pay and order-to-cash cycles. Lead initiatives to reduce close timelines, improve working capital efficiency and enhance cash flow forecasting accuracy. Act as finance lead for strategic projects including business growth, restructuring, system upgrades, new entity launches and M&A activity.Key Requirements (Technical Only) Fully qualified accountant:CRC, CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent. Proven experience infinancial control, controllership or senior finance leadershipwithin a regulated, multi-entity environment. Strong technical knowledge ofUS GAAP and international accounting standards (IFRS / local GAAP). Demonstrated experience leadingstatutory reporting, audit management and regulatory compliance. Track record of operating inmulti-currency and cross-border finance environments. Hands-on experience withfinancial systems and ERP platforms(Workday or equivalent). Practical experience withtransfer pricing, intercompany accounting and international tax compliance. Background infinancial services, professional services, or other regulated industries. Experience supportinginternational entities or regional finance operationsacross multiple jurisdictions.
