Nectar primarily works with brands to scale their sales on third-party marketplaces like Amazon. Nectar also develops websites for its clients and manages their paid social and search along with their email marketing. Role Overview The AI Applications Engineer will design, build, and deploy production-ready AI workflows that automate processes, summarize data, and enhance decision-making across Nectar’s marketing and analytics operations. This role combines backend development and large language model (LLM) integration to create scalable, API-driven AI applications with real business impact. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll prototype and implement AI solutions that improve efficiency and creativity within the organization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer experienced in Python, prompt engineering, and LLM APIs, capable of turning ideas into reliable, high-performing tools in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Brand Management, Ads Management) to define and prioritize AI application opportunities. Prototype and refine LLM-powered workflows through prompt engineering and API integration. Develop and maintain production-ready backend services that integrate business data with LLM APIs. Build and manage API endpoints for automation and summarization use cases. Implement data preparation pipelines to structure inputs and process model outputs. Ensure deployed AI solutions are reliable, cost-efficient, and scalable. Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code. Integrate error handling, monitoring, and logging for AI workflows in production. Continuously optimize prompt design, latency, and model configurations for better performance. Stay up to date on the latest trends in LLM frameworks, prompt strategies, and AI applications. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 3+ years of professional experience in Python development, focusing on backend or API-driven applications. 2–4 years of hands-on experience building AI or LLM-based applications in production environments. Proven experience with prompt engineering and integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, or similar). Demonstrated ability to build and deploy scalable API endpoints and lightweight applications. Proficiency in Python web frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or Django) for building RESTful APIs. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to iterate quickly on prototypes based on user feedback. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, EC2, S3, IAM) is a plus. Experience with vector databases, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems, or AI orchestration tools (LangChain, LlamaIndex, N8N) is a plus.
