Overview
PL Embedded Software Test Engineer - Indaiatuba/SP
Job Description: As a PL Embedded Software Test Engineer at John Deere, based in Indaiatuba/SP, you will be responsible for developing and executing embedded software tests for sprayers, both in the lab and in the field.
You will create and review test plans and test cases, track validation metrics, and lead improvements in test processes. The role requires experience with electrical and mechatronic systems, data acquisition and analysis tools, and the ability to diagnose failures. Strong technical communication skills and collaboration with cross-functional teams are required. Availability for frequent international travel (at least 50% of the time) to Europe and the U.S. is also required. Experience with test automation, CAN/J1939 protocols, and tools such as Azure DevOps, Rally, and NCCA will be a plus.

Responsibilities- Develop software test plans, determine critical software features, and perform field and lab tests;
- Execute or review/approve test specification/test cases for software performance validation;
- Establish and track software test metrics (requirements to test case coverage, test case data, test results, bugs found, bugs escaped, etc.);
- Lead efforts for software test process improvements within Sprayer PV&V.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, or integrating products that were successfully delivered to production, especially electrical and mechatronic systems;
- Proficiency in the use of test lab equipment, data acquisition, and data analysis tools;
- Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical/software/mechanical issues;
- Experience working in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams;
- Demonstrated skills in the clear communication of technical data and project information;
- Travel to John Deere test sites and customer sites as required to support software testing;
- Able and willing to be flexible in work schedule and travel at least 50% internationally to Europe and U.S. to support Sprayer software testing.
- Experience with test plan design and test execution;
- Experience with test automation tools and environments (HIL, SIL);
- Experience with on-machine testing at Deere test sites or customer sites;
- Software development experience at John Deere;
- Experience with J1939 CAN protocol or CAN tools used for logging and analysis of vehicle networks;
- Working knowledge in John Deere PV&V systems & tools (Azure DevOps, Rally, Vision, NCCA, etc).
