Base pay range $17.50/hr – $21.00/hr Overview Walgreens Pharmacy Technician positions have transitioned to a patient‑centric environment. The apprenticeship program offers training to become a PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician, with national credential. Responsibilities Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision, complying with state and federal regulations and company policies. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions, including data entry and validation. Model and deliver a distinctive customer experience, greeting patients, resolving issues, and sharing best practices. Execute operational tasks such as counting, pouring, verifying medication, scheduling workflow, and reporting prescription errors to pharmacist. Handle cash registers, process third‑party claims, maintain inventory, and support pharmacy department maintenance. Assist with clinical services when required, including sample collection and coordination of Walgreens healthcare clinics. Support pharmacy manager and staff pharmacist in building relationships with local medical community. Carry out special assignments and other tasks as directed. Training & Personal Development Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state‑required certification. Attend manager‑requested training and acquire continuing education credits to maintain knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy developments. Basic Qualifications Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Approximately six months of experience in a retail environment. Prior work experience with Walgreens. Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling.
