Principal Engineer (Spanning Platform Engineering & Software Architecture) - Hybrid - Buenos Aires

Join Syneos Health as a Principal Engineer (Spanning Platform Engineering & Software Architecture) in Buenos Aires. We are a leading biopharmaceutical solutions organization committed to accelerating customer success by translating clinical, medical, and commercial insights into outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building architecture and platform strategy across platform and software engineering
  • Leading cross-domain technical initiatives and solving complex problems
  • Designing scalable, secure, and composable platforms and reference architectures
  • Developing prototypes, debugging systems, and supporting teams
  • Authoring technical standards, driving adoption, and enforcing technical direction
  • Evaluating and introducing new technologies and architecture models
  • Serving as the final escalation point for technical decisions

Key Relationships:

  • Reports to: Senior Director
  • Partners with: Platform Leads, Solution Architects, Tech Leads, Data/AI Teams
  • Mentors: Senior Engineers in platform and software domains

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Expertise in cloud architecture (multi-region, microservices, event-driven systems)
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (Python, TypeScript/Node.js preferred)
  • Deep understanding of DevSecOps, SRE, and platform architecture principles
  • Skills in API design, security, system observability, and cost optimization
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Hands-on experience in coding and building with teams

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles
  • Proven track record of leading cross-team initiatives
