You will focus specifically on verifying the interactions and data flows between different software components, hardware elements, and external systems within our complex defence solutions, ensuring they work together seamlessly. Modirum | Gespi is launching a strategic initiative to adapt our robust existing technologies for the high stakes UAV Defence sector. We are building a dedicated development team and seek an experienced Backend Lead to guide the design, development, and deployment of the server-side logic, APIs, and databases that power our defence solutions. You will lead a team of backend developers, ensuring our systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and performant. Your Role in the Team: As an Integration Tester, you play a critical role in ensuring the cohesion and end-to-end functionality of our defence systems. You will: Work closely with the Testing Lead, developers (Backend, Frontend, AI, Hardware), and architects to understand system architecture and integration points. Design, develop, and execute integration test plans and test cases focusing on interfaces, APIs, data exchange, and workflows between system components. Identify, analyze, and document defects found during integration testing. Develop and maintain test environments and test data required for integration scenarios. Automate integration tests where feasible using appropriate tools and frameworks (e.g., API testing tools like Postman, scripting languages, integration testing frameworks). Perform interface testing, validating communication protocols and data formats. Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot integration issues. Contribute to system-level testing activities as needed. Provide clear and concise reports on integration test results and system stability. Directly contribute to the team's output by validating the correct interoperation of diverse system parts, crucial for reliable defence solutions. Qualifications: Proven experience in software testing, with a focus on integration testing or system testing. Strong understanding of system architecture, APIs (e.g., REST, SOAP, gRPC), and interface protocols. Experience designing and executing integration test cases. Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) and techniques. Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for test automation or setup is beneficial. Solid understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms. Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA). Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical teams. Bonus Points: Experience testing integrated hardware/software systems. Experience testing microservices or distributed systems. Experience in the Defence, Aerospace, or Telecommunications industries. Familiarity with network protocols and tools. Experience with performance or load testing of integrated systems. ISTQB certification.
