Under general supervision, the **Material Handler I** performs general warehouse and material handling operational activities of manual loading, unloading, and moving of materials, supplies, and product to and from production, warehouse and/or between facilities. Utilizes various pieces of material handling equipment such as pallets movers, standup forklifts, and order pickers.

**Essential Job Functions/Tasks**:
- Sorts picking orders and assembly production orders and print of finished orders labels for customer orders identification.
- Materials storage, supplies the assembly line, prepares pallets and transports completed orders to the distribution point or staging area.
- Operates equipment including forklift, mechanical pallet jack, scales, and scissor-lift in a safe manner for loading, unloading or to move material to, from trucks within a warehouse or storage facility.
- Identifies, documents and modify any errors in the storage of component parts to ensure all parts in the warehouse are in the proper locations.
- Packs finished products, distributes materials, and takes inventory of stored items through cycle counting.
- Conducts daily inspections of forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
- Rotates through all the tasks required in a particular logistic process and provides support and assistance in all areas of the Manufacturing department, as needed.
- Notifies appropriate personnel of equipment failures and/or quality deficiencies and communicates effectively to support Continuous Process Improvement.
- Adheres to all company and departmental safety procedures including use of personal protective equipment when necessary. Does not operate machinery when guarding is not in place.
- Assists other material handler accordingly the activities to be performed, as needed.
**Education/Training Required and Preferred**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- NR-11 - Safety standard for operating fork-lifts, elevators, cranes, conveyors.
**Experience Required and Preferred**:
- Minimum of six months of general experience in warehouse or similar environment.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's)**:
- Verbal and written communication skills in Portuguese and the ability to comprehend work instructions.
- Ability to work within a team environment and demonstrate professional behavior.
- Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
- Requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
- Ability to perform data entry, basic proficiency with computers for using Microsoft Office software package, view electronic procedures and pass training courses.
- Ability to use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
- Knowledge of and ability to use arithmetic and other operations using measurement units of currency, weight, volume, and distance. Must be able to accurately perform intermediate mathematical and statistical calculations and use a weight counting scale.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with members across the organization.
- Must be able to work overtime when required.
