With operations in Denmark (Brondby and Kalundborg) and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro and Açu Port), we deliver subsea equipment to global contractors and oil companies. We are looking for an Engineer – Pipe System Design Engineering to join our global team and support growth in Brazil.

Your New Role

You will be part of our global and international Engineering department, based in either Rio de Janeiro or São João da Barra, Açu Port, Brazil, working on several major flexible pipe projects in a multi-disciplinary environment. You will participate in a range of tasks leveraging your engineering skills to succeed.

Subsea Flexible Riser Analysis Engineer

You will design flexible pipe systems by modeling the dynamic offshore environment, simulating structure behavior, calculating loads, and evaluating pipe and subsea structure integrity. You will model components with Orcaflex and design the overall subsea configuration, calculating loads to assess feasibility of components such as pipe cross-section, end-fittings, and subsea structures. You will configure flexible risers (e.g., free-hanging, lazy wave) and define required pipe lengths and ancillary components like bend stiffeners and buoyancy modules.

• Conduct comprehensive global analysis of flexible pipes and offshore structures under various extreme operating conditions.
• Perform hydrodynamic and structural simulations to assess environmental forces (waves, currents, tides).
• Analyze mechanical behavior of flexible pipes (bending, axial tension, compression, torsion).
• Evaluate extreme environmental conditions (100-year events, fatigue life, installation scenarios) for safe deployment and 20+ year operations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure project execution.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation to communicate analysis results and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (API Spec 17J and RP17B), regulations, and safety requirements.

About You

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in structural analysis and dynamic simulation, preferably offshore.
• Proficiency in finite element analysis software Orcaflex or similar.
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, hydrodynamic loading, wave theory, fatigue analysis, and nonlinear material behavior.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and teamwork ability.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present complex technical information clearly.
• Fluent in written and spoken English at a professional level.

Subsea Flexible Pipe Design Engineer

You will design the core product, the flexible pipe cross-section, ensuring manufacturability, material compatibility, and structural integrity, while analyzing failure modes and performing complex calculations. You will interface with other engineering disciplines to deliver technically feasible and cost-effective pipe solutions.

• Conduct local cross-sectional analysis of flexible pipes under various conditions using in-house tools.
• Perform structural analysis to assess failure modes, feasibility, and cost effectiveness.
• Analyze mechanical behavior (bending, axial tension, compression, torsion).
• Evaluate extreme environmental conditions (100-year events, fatigue life, installation) for safe deployment and 20+ year operation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Prepare technical reports and deliver analysis results and recommendations.
• Provide technical support to factories concerning manufacturing deviations and non-conformities.
• Ensure compliance with API Spec 17J, RP 17B, regulations, and safety requirements.
