OverviewPurpose of Position: At Hexagon, our Quality Assurance staff are active, equal members of our Agile development teams. We partner with our teammates to assess, communicate, and improve the quality of our applications. We are committed to continuous improvement in our products, processes, and in ourselves. We build a vast array of applications, including: Desktop PCs High performance computing (HPC) clusters Web services and applications Embedded apps on custom hardware (we also build the hardware) RequirementsStrong time management, prioritization, and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain flexibility in different situations and adapt to change Ability to rapidly grasp technical solutions, concepts, and products Ability to learn and work creatively with complex engineering applications High level of personal drive and self-motivation Desire to expand own knowledge and skill set as well as sharing knowledge with other team members ResponsibilitiesMaintain baseline test environments and databases for required product versions and configurations Ensure test environments closely mirror end user\'s systems re: operating system, hardware configurations Create, set up, execute and report on test runs Create concise bug reports, including root cause analysis where possible Re-test fixed bugs including partial regression in affected areas and areas affected by the same data Create test cases to standard, including set up conditions, steps, expected results Quickly learn complex applications and workflows from the end user\'s viewpoint Participate in team activities, including task estimation, risk analysis, planning and retrospectives Act as the customer\'s advocate during team meetings Seek, use and promote best practice methodologies & tools to deliver quality software releases Contribute to the continuous improvement of the software development process within the development team Ensure agreed practices are adhered to by the team KnowledgeBachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related fields. Comprehensive understanding of SDLC, including Agile methods Hands on experience with both black box and white (glass) box testing Bug creation / management / reporting Relational databases and SQL queries Understanding of API functionality, language and tools Experience with testing / coding tools - Testrail, Jira, Git, Jenkins, or equivalents Risk analysis and mitigation strategies Understanding of networking setups, especially WiFi Nice to haveHands-on experience with high level languages such as Java, C++, Python, Ruby, C#, or Perl Experience with multiple operating systems - Linux, Unix, Windows, iOS, Android Experience with Hardware/Embedded testing Knowledge of or experience in the mining industry Health Plan Comprehensive Health Program - Psychological, Nutritional, Legal, Financial, and Social Assistance Life Insurance Wellhub (Gympass) Join our team as a QA Engineer and make a significant impact on our clients\' digital transformation initiatives.
