Join to apply for the AI/ML Engineer Tech Lead Manager role at Shape Digital We are looking for a AI/ML Engineer Tech Lead Manager to act as one of the key leaders within our Data Science discipline. This role combines team management, hands‑on technical contribution and strong product partnership to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, scalable and business‑driven AI solutions. The Tech Lead Manager will guide a team of Data Scientists, support planning and prioritization across initiatives and collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to drive clarity, alignment and iterative value delivery. This person will remain technically involved, contributing to experimentation, design decisions, and the development of robust end‑to‑end solutions while helping elevate standards and practices across the discipline. It’s also important to stay connected to emerging trends in AI and modern ML technologies. Responsibilities Manage and support Data Scientists through coaching, feedback and structured team rituals. Cultivate a challenging and inspiring environment that supports the company to retain, attract and hire people who are talented and better than you. Ensure clear planning, prioritization and execution across multiple streams. Contribute to product and technical roadmaps, helping shape priorities and delivery plans. Identify opportunities for AI solutions and work with domain experts to translate real problems. Contribute hands‑on to model exploration, experimentation, architecture decisions and solution design. Maintain high engineering and scientific standards: reproducibility, documentation, evaluation and deployment readiness. Guide end‑to‑end solution development, ensuring scalability, maintainability and operational excellence. Collaborate with other leaders to evolve shared frameworks, processes and best practices. Promote a culture of iteration, incremental value delivery and continuous improvement. Stay up to date with modern ML and AI trends, especially around LLMs and emerging technologies. Foster internal knowledge sharing and contribute to the growth of the technical community. Lead the elaboration of research papers, technical publications and patent applications derived from the team's innovative AI methods and solutions, while safeguarding intellectual property. Requirements Degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, etc.). Experience leading Data Science teams or mentoring senior‑level Data Scientists. Strong hands‑on expertise in AI, Machine Learning, Python and SQL. Solid knowledge of ML frameworks such as Scikit‑Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch. Proven experience designing, building and deploying ML solutions in production. Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Strong problem solver with ability to manage and lead the team to push solution & progress. Experience working collaboratively with Product and Engineering organizations. English proficiency required. Differentials Experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector. Hands‑on experience with LLM‑based solutions. Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
