Job Description

Rockwell Automation is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. You will build, maintain, and enhance automation solutions supporting our global operations, collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency and reliability.

You will report to the Senior IT Manager based in the USA, and your role will be fully remote, working anywhere in Poland.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement automation workflows for provisioning, configuration, and management of on-premise network devices, servers, and storage.
  2. Support standardization of configuration baselines for devices across regions.
  3. Audit existing device configurations, inventory collection, and identify discrepancies.
  4. Develop and deploy reusable configuration templates and automation playbooks (e.g., Ansible, NetBox, Terraform).
  5. Integrate configuration standards into automated workflows to minimize technical debt.
  6. Build compliance validation checkpoints, support drift detection and remediation.
  7. Manage version control, rollback workflows, and continuous improvement of configurations.
  8. Design automation solutions for infrastructure and applications using CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  9. Create scripts and workflows using industry-standard tools like Ansible or Terraform.
  10. Automate build, test, and deployment pipelines for cloud and on-premises environments.
  11. Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to improve delivery speed, quality, and security.
  12. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in automation workflows.
  13. Document automation processes, standards, and best practices.
  14. Monitor environments to ensure availability, performance, and compliance.
  15. Stay updated with automation tools, standards, and practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or similar automation roles.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure concepts (systems, cloud, networking).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Basic monitoring and logging knowledge.
  • Proficiency in English for global collaboration.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in production or staging IT environments.
  • Familiar with ITSM tools or configuration management databases.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes).
