**About the team**:
The Global Public Policy & Government Affairs team's work spans across a broad and diverse range of functions and workstreams, including government affairs and government relations; policy and issue area expertise; risk and crisis management and mitigation; outreach, coalitions, and partnerships; and philanthropy. The mission of the Global Public Policy & Government Affairs team is to develop and advocate for solutions for pressing high technology issues and to promote a political, legislative, and regulatory environment that supports growth and innovation for our business.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Represent TikTok to elected officials, government agencies and ministries engaged in e-commerce policy making on issues of importance to our company and the people who use the service;
2. Proactively identify emerging and significant e-commerce policy issues, alert relevant internal teams and address any issues;
3. Inform the cross-functional product and corporate teams on policy and regulatory developments in Brazil that could present risks with implications for the company and its products;
4. Represent TikTok at high tech industry gatherings, trade associations and coalition meetings;
5. Assist the Head of Brazil Public Policy to build strategy and advise the company on emerging e-commerce public policy matters to ensure the success of the team's goals in Brazil;
6. Work closely with Trust & Safety, Communications, Legal, and product teams on the development and integration of key e-commerce public policy projects;
7. Provide front-line support on issues requiring engagement, solving problems, and escalating to internal colleagues as needed;
8. Maintain and develop a strong network of third-party public interest groups, industry associations and academics engaged in technology policy issues;
9. Carry-out research and reporting on domestic and international policy issues relevant to the company;
**Qualifications**:

1. 7+ years dedicated professional experience with e-commerce public policy;
2. Deep understanding of the key public policy issues that impact e-commerce services including advertising, consumer protection, safety and security;
3. Outstanding judgment, persuasive and lobbying skills, creativity, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and often uncertain environment;
5. Strong network of experts, academics and NGOs, able to help direct TikTok regarding new trends and research in the area of e-commerce;
6. Deep experience working across multiple functions, influencing, and collaborating with others to successfully implement programs and initiatives; history of successful cross-functional team and leadership collaboration;
**7. Strong research and analysis abilities**: the individual will need to take complex situations and effectively communicate their implications for the company, as well as defend priorities for the public policy function;
**8. Strong teamwork and communication skills**: the individual will need to work with other departments including, but not limited to policy/legal/PR staff to assess need, alignment and path for collaboration;
9. Discipline, strong sense of responsibility and self-drive;
10. Excellent Portuguese and English language fluency, spoken and written;
