Senior Game Producer, Game-Based Learning

AWS Game-Based Learning Products is looking for a Senior Game Producer to join a fast-paced, startup-minded innovation team where fun is an integral part of your job. Joining our team, you will guide a team of architects, artists, designers, engineers, and testers responsible for the conception, development and operations of highly technical game-based learning solutions that rely on extensive use of hands-on labs, virtual environments, and interactive simulations to get customers to develop practical skills using AWS services.
As a Senior Game Producer you will collaborate with designers and artists to develop an end-to-end visually appealing game experience; you will partner with engineers and testers to build gameplay, tooling and cloud services that are foundational to our games; and you will cooperate with architects and instructional designers to map learning objectives into gameplay to deliver a unique cloud learning experience to our players.
Key job responsibilities:
- Coordinate a multi-disciplinary team composed of architects, artists, designers, engineers, and testers to deliver, maintain, and operate multiple game-based learning products;
- Partner with technical stakeholders to co-create the long-term development roadmap for our games;
- Partner with business stakeholders to co-create weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews;
- Fulfill the role of project manager (establish milestones, track progress, manage risks) for the development team, external agencies, and internal partners using agile development methods (kanban);
- Make data-driven decisions leveraging the gaming and cloud training industry landscape, as well as user feedback & telemetry data;
A day in the life:
You will work with product and engineering stakeholders closely on a day-to-day basis. You will contribute to the production of multiple games and features at the same time and collaborate with other learning products teams (e.g.: AWS Jam and Exam Prep), connecting products and features to a holistic experience. You will guide and mentor team members on game development best practices and regularly review technical and business work with peers, stakeholders, and leadership.
About the team:
AWS Game-Based Learning team members are spread across the US, Canada, and Brazil. Our mission is to build learning products that use game thinking principles. We combine learning strategies with game technologies and theories to develop appealing knowledge transfer experiences that target customer needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience;
- Experience in gameplay development, backend API integration, and/or in-game art and design asset creation;
- Experience with modern game engines and asset integration pipelines;
- Experience working with a cross-discipline team of artists, designers, testers, and engineers in agile/scrum/kanban environment;
- Ability to communicate in Portuguese and English (verbal and written);
- Experience managing teams working with game development, engine level systems (rendering, audio, streaming, physics, etc), cloud infrastructure or DevOps, or equivalent game development technologies;
- Knowledgeable of game, training, and/or cloud industry trends.
