Software Platform Engineering Manager - Ubuntu for Next-Gen Silicon Join to apply for the Software Platform Engineering Manager - Ubuntu for Next-Gen Silicon role at Canonical About the Role We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our teams in optimizing Ubuntu for the latest hardware architectures including x86, ARM, RISC-V, s390x, and POWER. This globally remote role involves managing engineering talent, overseeing project delivery, and collaborating with silicon vendors and open source communities. Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of engineers from junior to senior levels. Oversee project milestones and support customer engagements. Drive engineering practices, documentation, and quality improvements. Review code and design specifications, contributing technically. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners. Qualifications Strong background in software development, particularly in C, C++, and Python. Experience with Linux kernel or user space development. Proven leadership in software engineering teams. Excellent communication skills in English. Preferred Skills Knowledge of computer architecture (x86, ARM, RISC-V, s390x). Experience with build systems, virtualization, networking, or graphics stacks. Familiarity with open source licensing and communities.
