JOB OVERVIEW

The Site HS&E Leader, also known as the Site Safety Leader, is a key role responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies, procedures, and programs at the site level. Reporting to management, this position plays a crucial role in promoting a safe and environmentally compliant workplace.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure the site leaders of the resources required both in terms of personnel and finance for the Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and programs to be implemented efficiently and effectively.
2. Ensure that the company is aware of forthcoming legislation and the likely impact it will have on the business, and that the company complies with current legislation.
3. Provide the facility with technical expertise concerning Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and programs.
4. Establish and monitor appropriate objectives and targets, policies, procedures and programs in order to comply with legislative requirements and ensure continuous improvements in safety and environmental systems and report.
5. Develop a site HS&E Action Plan to include all site HS&E actions and ensure tracking and completion process is in place.
6. Attend management meetings as appropriate to provide feedback in relation to Health, Safety and Environmental performance and related issues.
7. Ensure suitable incident reporting systems are in place for all department locations, in line with the requirements including communication, escalation, reporting, investigation and actions to prevent recurrence.
8. Ensure suitable Near Miss reporting systems are in place for all department locations.
9. Ensure suitable Behavior Observation reporting systems are in place for all department locations.
10. Provide accident statistics monthly, including lost time incidents and accident trends for senior management to review.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

1. Degree in environmental health and safety or related field.
2. 5 years of experience in HS&E leadership, preferably in manufacturing.
3. Certification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is a plus.
4. Knowledge of HS&E regulations.
5. Collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
6. Proficiency in MS Office and HS&E software.
7. Willingness to travel sporadically and work in Senador Canedo, Brazil.
8. Commitment to safety, diversity, and continuous improvement.
