Tech Lead, Software Engineering, Black Community Inclusion

Google is committed to fostering diversity and inclusion. We are seeking a Tech Lead in Software Engineering to join our team, focusing on Black community inclusion initiatives. This role requires a candidate with strong technical expertise and leadership skills.

Experience and Skills

  • Deep domain expertise in relevant areas.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development, including data structures and algorithms.
  • At least 5 years of experience testing and launching software products, with 3 years in software design and architecture.
  • Fluent communication skills in English and Portuguese.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4 years in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years managing teams of software engineers.
  • Experience designing large-scale distributed systems, APIs, Search Ranking systems, or Machine Learning systems.

As a Google software engineer, you will work on next-generation technologies impacting billions of users. Your work will span areas like information retrieval, distributed computing, AI, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile platforms. You will have opportunities to switch teams and projects, tackling new challenges and driving technological innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software.
  • Research and develop software applications to enhance Google's products.
  • Address scalability issues related to data access and information retrieval.
  • Manage priorities, deadlines, and team deliverables.
