Responsibilities

• Develops behavioral plans, provides behavioral therapy, and other therapeutic services for people served and their families. Develops clinical hypotheses to design and develop treatment methodologies that will be incorporated in the treatment plan.
• Works with supervisors in the development, implementation, maintenance, and generalization of behavioral change.
• Maintains the use of least restrictive treatment guidelines in the implementation of behavioral interventions and techniques.
• Coaches people served, family members, and other team members in effecting management, communication and social skills.
• Provides behavioral intervention in the home, or community, or job site on an individual or group basis.
• Completes admission and discharge planning and documentation as needed.
• Completes required assessments and treatment plans in timeframes required by the payer, for example Functional Behavioral Assessment.
• Provides oversight of implementation of the treatment plan.
• Collects data indicating objectives, strategies, and results obtained.
• Consults with other community-based resources such as state agencies, schools, medical and other mental health professionals as necessary.
• Participates in family education and training as needed.
• Participates in treatment planning and clinical consultations with the trans-disciplinary team, ensuring coordinated care efforts.
• Ensures evaluation, progress, and discharge reports on each person served are provided in a timely manner.
• Submits documentation for the person served in a timely manner, compliant with program expectations.
• Ensures adherence to accreditation standards and ethics of confidentiality.
• Assists in coordination of behavioral programming within living, community, and vocational settings as necessary.
• Provides training and support to the team in behavioral techniques.
• Supports people served, families, and other stakeholders in crisis situations as needed.
• Performs other related duties and activities as required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in psychology or related field
• 1 year experience preferred

Pennsylvania Specific Requirements

• Behavioral Consultant : Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, education or counseling and one year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children; or Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, education or completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum; license as a Behavior Specialist in Pennsylvania or certification as a BCBA or other graduate level certification in behavior analysis can replace required experience

Pennsylvania Behavioral Consultant-ABA

• To provide ABA services, a professional license as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, behavior specialist, or certified registered nurse and one of the following
• A minimum of one year of full-time experience providing ABA services and a minimum of 12 credits in ABA
• A minimum of one year of full-time experience providing ABA services under the supervision of a professional with a certification as a BCBA or other graduate-level certification in behavior analysis

Certificates, Licenses, And Registrations

• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.

Other Skills And Abilities

• Knowledge Of Applied Behavior Analysis or Positive Behavior Support principles required
• Familiarity with conducting Functional Behavior Assessments preferred
• Creating interventions/strategies to address maladaptive behaviors as noted in the Functional Behavior Assessment desirable
• Evaluation of progress from a qualitative and quantitative standpoint

• Travel as needed

Physical Requirements

• Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
