We are seeking a skilled Laravel Engineer with MySQL tuning experience to join our rapidly growing team. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where opinions and efforts are valued. Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Laravel applications (Laravel 8 and above) with a deep understanding of the framework’s architecture.
  • Optimize MySQL performance by identifying bottlenecks, writing and debugging complex SQL queries, and applying indexing and query rewriting techniques.
  • Design and normalize/denormalize database schemas to ensure scalability and data integrity for high-volume transactions.
  • Work with Eloquent ORM and Laravel Query Builder, understanding how generated SQL impacts performance and optimizing accordingly.
  • Contribute to complex, large-scale multitenant SaaS applications.
  • Implement robust security practices in backend systems, including Laravel authentication.
  • Write and maintain tests using Pest PHP and PHPUnit to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Design and implement robust, scalable RESTful APIs in Laravel with a focus on performance and data efficiency.
  • Collaborate with ReactJS developers when needed.
  • Demonstrate extreme ownership, meet estimates, and align with team processes and client goals.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience with Laravel (Laravel 8+), with strong understanding of framework architecture.
  • Expertise in MySQL performance optimization and resolving complex database bottlenecks.
  • Proficiency in writing, optimizing, and debugging complex SQL queries; knowledge of EXPLAIN plans and composite indexing.
  • Experience with database schema design, normalization/denormalization, and scalability considerations for high-volume workloads.
  • Experience with Eloquent ORM and Laravel Query Builder; understanding of generated SQL and performance implications.
  • Experience with multitenant SaaS applications.
  • Solid experience with Laravel authentication and secure backend practices.
  • Experience with testing tools (Pest PHP and PHPUnit).
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs in Laravel.
  • Nice-to-have: ReactJS experience.
  • Strong communication, accountability, and a positive attitude.
