The Purpose: We are seeking a Senior Accounting Manager, Americas to support our team’s strategy, growth and innovation. This role is part of the Global Finance team to manage the accounting operations, statutory and regulatory compliance of our entities in the Americas. We are looking for someone who is a strategic leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent problem solving skills, strong communication, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment to support our continued success. Key Responsibilities Strategic & Operational Leadership Regional Accounting Strategy & Management: Provide strategic and operational leadership for the entire Americas Accounting function. Define and execute the regional accounting roadmap, ensuring alignment with the global Finance team Strategic Business Partnering: Proactively provide guidance on regional accounting, statutory, and regulatory implications of business transformations, including M&A activity and evolving operating models Transfer Pricing Coordination: Lead the coordination and management of the group’s global monthly transfer pricing calculation and quarterly/annual true-up processes. Manage the issuance of intercompany invoices Audit & External Relations: Act as the primary regional contact for external auditors, accounting/tax advisors, and global service providers. Coordinate and lead all annual external audits, ensuring documentation and resolution of queries Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with internal departments (Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Legal) to resolve complex accounting issues, provide input for business projects, and support M&A due diligence and integration Technical Accounting & Regulatory Compliance Financial Closing & Reporting Oversight: Lead monthly and annual closing processes for all Americas entities. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of the general ledger, reconciliations, and P&L statements Complex Accounting Resolution: Monitor and resolve complex technical accounting matters, including intercompany transactions and customer funds reconciliation Statutory & Global Reporting: Prepare and review statutory financial statements, ensure compliance with local GAAP (e.g., BR GAAP) and alignment with IFRS Central Bank & Regulatory Compliance (Brazil Focus): Act as the focal point with the Central Bank of Brazil (BACEN) for financial reports and regulator communications; ensure compliance including CADOCs and Minimum Capital reports Payment Institution Licensing: Lead the accounting and finance workstream for the BACEN licensing application, providing financial data and ensuring licensing compliance Local Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with local regulatory and corporate requirements across all Americas entities Team & Process Elevation Team Leadership & Development: Supervise, mentor, and develop the Americas Accounting team; foster accountability, continuous learning, and high performance Process Improvement & Automation: Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency, scalability, and accuracy Internal Controls & Policy Adherence: Ensure robust internal controls and policy adherence to mitigate risk Your Profile Experience: Typically 7+ years in a senior accounting leadership role within a dynamic multinational company; proven leadership of accounting and finance functions Expertise: Deep knowledge of technical accounting standards, statutory reporting, and regulatory environments; experience in payments & fintech is desired Leadership & Influence: Ability to lead and motivate teams; strong communication and cross-functional partnership skills; pragmatic, results-oriented problem solver Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Law; professional qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) highly desirable Languages: Fluency in Portuguese and English is essential Mindset: Strategic thinker with integrity and business acumen; comfortable with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment What we offer Hybrid working: 3 days/week on-site; 30-day holiday allowance and remote work option up to 30 additional days per year abroad Learning and Development: 3,000 BRL annual budget for professional growth; leadership cafés and on-the-job training Insurance: Life, health, dental, and travel insurance Meal vouchers: BRL 54/day with options for meal allowance or supermarket vouchers Enhanced Family Leave Transportation Voucher Gym membership contribution Deals & Coupon Platform discounts Mental Health Platform access SESC membership benefits for education, health, culture, and recreation Pet-friendly office We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process.
