Data Platform Engineer Role Overview Our organization is seeking an experienced Data Platform Engineer to build and scale our modern data infrastructure. This role will contribute to the development of distributed data systems, ETL / streaming pipelines, metadata platforms, and frameworks that support experimentation across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with experience in designing and implementing scalable data storage, transformation, and processing systems. They will also have hands‑on experience with Spark, Kafka, Trino, and distributed systems, as well as familiarity with RBAC systems, IAM, and data governance principles. Key Responsibilities Design and develop scalable data storage, transformation, and processing systems using Spark, Kafka, and other technologies. Support the development of ETL and streaming pipelines using Spark, Kafka, Parquet, and Iceberg. Collaborate with data science and analytics teams to support experimentation workflows and automate components of A / B testing and experimentation frameworks. Maintain and improve platform-level RBAC and AWS IAM configuration, ensuring data reliability, security, and governance. Deploy and support services using Kubernetes and Helm, improving automation, performance, and cost efficiency of data workloads. Requirements Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 3+ years in data platform, data engineering, or platform engineering. Production-level coding experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java. Hands‑on experience with Spark, Kafka, Trino, and distributed systems. Familiarity with RBAC systems, IAM, and data governance principles. Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and CI / CD workflows. Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
