CASE MANAGER Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) is a social and human services agency whose mission is to successfully engage children and families to ensure safety, strengthen families, and achieve permanency. DCS has field office locations throughout Arizona; its central office is in Downtown Phoenix. DCS employs over 2,800 employees who share a common vision of ensuring children thrive in family environments free from abuse and neglect. Location: 663 W. Main Street, Casa Grande, AZ 85122. The Casa Grande office serves surrounding cities such as Marana, Maricopa, Florence, Coolidge, Eloy, and Arizona City. Posting Details: Salary: $ per hour. Grade: 17. Position closes 9/30/2024. Applications reviewed daily. Responsibilities Respond to reported allegations of child abuse and/or neglect. Assess child safety and risk. Conduct interviews and gather information. Make in-and-out of home contacts with families and children. Attend court hearings. Prepare case plans and conduct case plan staffing. Author professional reports and fill out documentation. Coordinate and monitor services. Place, transport, and move a child’s possessions when needed. Manage cases throughout the respective county and assigned area. Use computer and DCS child welfare software programs. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of confidentiality principles; behavior modification, conflict resolution, counseling techniques; intervention techniques; interviewing procedures; child development; family systems; behavioural indicators of mental health disturbance; impact of abuse and neglect; separation and loss issues; and child welfare practices. Proficiency in computers and software (Microsoft Office Suite, mobile devices, Outlook calendars, Microsoft Teams). Skills include establishing interpersonal relationships, verbal and written communication, eliciting and gathering information, modeling professional behavior, time management, multi‑tasking, observation, sensitivity to diverse cultures, calm and effective handling of high stress situations, adaptability, and independent decision making. Abilities include thorough completion of work tasks, leadership, analysis of information, addressing substance abuse issues, detailed documentation, data entry and retrieval in a computer‑based system, and obtaining and renewing CPR certification. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a U.S. Department of Education‑accredited institution, or four years of experience as a DCS Case Aide. Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card. Valid class-appropriate driver’s license (if operating a vehicle on state business) with current insurance; compliance with required driver training and record checks. Completion of the 22‑week in‑person training program in Midtown Phoenix (overnight stays as necessary). Pass a written exam, background investigation, Motor Vehicle Report check, and DCS Central Registry check. Driver’s License requirements as outlined in the position description. Compliance with Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification (E‑Verify).
