Position Summary
As a Boot Fitter 1, you will play a key role in enhancing our guests' experience by providing expert advice, fitting services, and personalized product recommendations. Your ability to deliver exceptional customer service will ensure that our guests leave our shop with properly fitted ski or snowboard boots, contributing to their overall comfort and performance on the mountain.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities- Boot Fitting Expertise: Conduct professional boot fittings, utilizing knowledge of foot anatomy and ski/snowboard boot technology to ensure a perfect fit for each guest.- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service, greeting customers warmly, listening to their needs, and offering personalized advice on ski and snowboard equipment.- Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in ski/snowboard boots, footbeds, and customization techniques to make informed product recommendations.- Customization & Adjustments: Perform boot modifications, including heat molding, shell adjustments, and insoles to optimize comfort and performance.- Sales Support: Assist with the sale of ski and snowboard equipment and accessories, providing insight on other related products such as socks, footbeds, and protective gear.- Guest Experience: Engage with guests to understand their skiing or snowboarding style, skill level, and preferences to guide them toward the best boot options.- Inventory & Merchandising: Assist in maintaining organized displays, tracking inventory, and ensuring that all boot fitting tools and equipment are in working condition.- Collaboration: Work closely with the retail team to ensure smooth shop operations and collaborate with other departments, such as rentals, to deliver a seamless guest experience.
Secondary Function
The bootfitter, when not occupied with pending duties listed above, would serve as a "roving" retail employee who would focus on alpine hardgood sales and serve a "fill-in" function in the Demo Center during a rush or when requested by supervisory staff.
Job Scope
Gravity Sports Mt Bachelor is a premier resort specialty ski and snowboard shop that transitions to downhill mountain bike, hiking, and outdoor gear in summer. Our staff is required to be knowledgeable and professional. Our staff must be passionate about sports and willing to use their knowledge to assist our guests in selecting the best products for them. Retail salespersons are responsible for all the essential functions listed above.

Specific Job Skills- License/Certifications: Bootfitting Certification.- Technical: Comfortable with computers and able to learn Point of Sale software. Prior sales experience, Ski Industry, and or Mountain Bike industry experience preferred.- Physical Capabilities: Must be able to stand for a full shift.
Education/Related Experience- Minimum education required: High School Diploma or equivalent- Minimum time in related position: 1 season
Current Hiring Range: $22.00/hr
Minimum Age Requirement: 18+
