Senior Accountant – Introduction to the Team Our Corporate Functions support Expedia Group through Employee Communications, Finance, Legal, People Team, Inclusion and Diversity, and Global Social Impact and Sustainability. Statutory Accounting Team supports global legal entities, handling local books maintenance, differences between US and local accounting rules, external audits, and financial statements for international entities worldwide. In This Role, You Will Review the monthly accounting package prepared by local bookkeepers Work efficiently across functions to support local audits Prepare financial statements according to IFRS and local accounting regulations Coordinate with 3rd‑party service providers to support local compliance requirements Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations Review indirect tax returns for consistency with accounting records Close monthly accounting following the corporate schedule Partner with the International Tax team Understand GAAP concepts and their impact on statutory financial results Prepare statutory surveys for local entities Experience and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting Required CRC (Brazilian Accountants Registry) +5 years of related professional experience Fluent in English (Spanish desirable) Ability to remain flexible in a fast‑paced and rapidly changing environment Ability to build strong working relationships and resolve issues across functions Attention to detail with excellent interpersonal and time‑management skills Knowledge of AR and AP subledger in ERP systems Experience with Oracle or a similar ERP system Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, functions) and experience working with large data sets Commitment to continued improvement Strong written and verbal communication skills Accommodation requests If you need assistance due to a disability or other conditions, please reach out to our Recruiting Accommodations Team.
