**The Role**
As a Mainframe Performance & Capacity Management (PCM) at Kyndryl, you'll have the opportunity to shape the very foundation of the technology that drives our world. Your work will involve developing, testing, and maintaining the software that controls a computer's operating system, hardware, and other systems software. You'll be a master troubleshooter and problem-solver, with the skills to fix even the most complex issues that arise.
Not only will you be responsible for ensuring the security of our computer systems, but you'll also work closely with other IT professionals to design and implement cutting-edge technology that keeps Kyndryl ahead of the curve.
As a leader in this field, you'll also be expected to conduct RCA discussions for the products you work on and provide ongoing technical and operational guidance to lead professional work teams. You may even manage departments on a national or international level, defining objectives and managing resources to ensure the success of your projects.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a "related field".
- Experience with performance tuning of systems, practicing capacity planning activity during system up-gradation and proactively managing capacity planning on regular basis.
- Clear understanding about SMF and analyzing and drawing insights from SMF data Processing.
- Experience with Workload Load Manager (WLM), Parallel Sysplex configurations, multiple LPAR environments, and experience in capacity/performance reporting and modeling.
- Must have system performance understanding of mainframe components covering the areas of ZOS, JES, CICS, DB2 and IMS.
- Thorough knowledge in Performance analysis & tuning for ZOS operating environment / DASD / Tape storage systems.
- Ability to perform diagnostics and perform RCA ( Root cause analysis ).
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Should be a team player with excellent communication and technical skills.
- Provide a 7/24 service on-call to clients
- Capacity Planning for Processor, DASD, and on physical processors (CECs) for various customers.
- Knowledge about forecasting for processors, coupling facilities, DASD, Virtual Tape, and Tape in a complex.
- Provide technical guidance to internal contacts in the design of infrastructure solutions that meet business needs and perform to engineered specifications.
- Must be proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, C, C++.
