SAP RELEASE MANAGER - Core SAP skills requiredWe have an urgent requirement for an SAP Release Manager, preferably based in the LATAM region.Duration: 6 months, high likelihood of extensionAn SAP Release Managerplans, coordinates, and controls the entire SAP release lifecycle, from defining release strategies and schedules to managing deployments and post-go-live support, ensuring quality, minimizing business disruption, and maintaining compliance with standards like ITIL and SOX. Key responsibilities include stakeholder communication, risk management, process governance, and continuous improvement of the release process through post-release reviews and key performance indicator (KPI) tracking.Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Planning:Develop and maintain the SAP release strategy, plan, and calendar, coordinating release windows and cycles across various SAP modules and integrated applications.Execution & Coordination:Manage and coordinate all release activities, ensuring timely and seamless execution by working closely with development, testing, and infrastructure teams.Governance & Compliance:Implement and enforce release management processes and quality gates, ensuring adherence to standards such as ITIL, SOX, and audit requirements.Risk Management:Identify potential risks to the release schedule, quality, and scope, and develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays or disruptions.Stakeholder Management:Liaise with business stakeholders, project managers, and other relevant teams to align release activities with business priorities.Communication:Act as the central point of communication, providing transparency on release plans, risks, impacts, and progress to all involved parties.Post-Release Activities:Conduct post-release reviews and postmortems, track release KPIs (success rate, defect leakage), and identify lessons learned for continuous process improvement.Quality Assurance:Oversee the entire release lifecycle, ensuring that all release criteria, including functionality, performance, and security requirements, are met before deployment.Process Improvement:Drive initiatives to improve workflows and efficiency, developing and implementing automation tools and frameworks to streamline release processesCore SAP skills requiredSAP Solution Manager (Sol Man)Change Request ManagementTransport Management System (TMS)System MonitoringSAP Transport ManagementDeep understanding of transport layers, routes, and import queuesExperience with STMS, TMS configuration, and troubleshootingSAP Basis KnowledgeUnderstanding of system architectureFamiliarity with system refreshes, client copies, and patchingSAP Landscape ManagementManaging multi-tier SAP environments (Development, QA, Production)We are digital changemakers – here to disrupt old ideas, blaze new trails, and help enterprises transform and scale at unparalleled speed.Tech Mahindra is a global consulting service and systems integrator that operates in over 90+ countries, delivering solutions with a unique blend of digital innovation and robust, industry-strong processes.
