Software Engineer

Description A Bubble Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable web applications on the Bubble platform, enabling rapid development without extensive coding. This role requires expertise in Bubble’s features, workflows, and plugins to deliver custom solutions tailored to client needs. The ideal candidate excels in written communication for asynchronous collaboration and demonstrates strong self-management and independent problem-solving skills, effectively working with project managers, designers, and developers to meet high standards and project timelines. Responsibilities Application Development 1.1. Design and develop fully functional web applications using the Bubble platform, ensuring alignment with client requirements, milestones, and business goals. 1.2. Configure workflows, database structures, and API integrations within Bubble to enable seamless functionality. 1.3. Create responsive designs that work across various devices, adhering to UX/UI best practices. 1.4. Utilize Bubble’s visual programming interface to implement features such as user authentication, data management, and third-party API integrations, with a foundational knowledge of Airdev Canvas (training provided in-house if needed). 1.5. Stay up to date with Bubble’s certification requirements to ensure ongoing expertise and alignment with the platform’s latest features and best practices. 2.Customization and Integration 2.1. Leverage Bubble’s plugin marketplace and external APIs to extend application functionality. 2.2. Develop custom workflows and logic to address complex client requirements. 2.3. Work with RESTful APIs and other integration points to enhance the app’s capabilities, ensuring scalability and performance. 3.Testing and Quality Assurance 3.1. Conduct thorough testing of applications to ensure smooth functionality and resolve any bugs or issues before delivery, providing evidence through test cases, such as videos of specific development milestones or flows, as part of the development QA process. 3.2. Collaborate with QA teams or Project Managers to troubleshoot and optimize applications, ensuring high-quality user experiences, and co-leading handoff calls to ensure a smooth transition to the client or next project phase. 4.Documentation 4.1. Maintain comprehensive documentation for each project, including a structured database schema and recorded test case videos to demonstrate key workflows and functionality. 4.2. Create detailed guides for client handoff to facilitate smooth transitions and enable clients to manage the application effectively. 4.3. Adhere to documentation standards to ensure consistency in internal knowledge sharing, supporting scalability and efficient onboarding of team members. 5.Collaboration 5.1. Work closely with project managers, UX/UI designers, and other developers to ensure that the application meets client expectations. 5.2. Participate in project kick-off meetings and client calls to provide input on technical feasibility and development timelines. 5.3. Communicate progress, challenges, and updates to the Project Manager and other stakeholders. 5.4. Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and support to foster their technical growth and integration within the development team. Qualifications Experience: -2+ years of experience developing coded web applications, with at least 2 years of experience specifically on the Bubble platform. -Strong understanding of Bubble’s database architecture, workflows, and plugin system. -Experience with third-party API integrations, webhooks, and backend services, including 3rd party db's such as Xano or Supabase. Skills: -Expertise in building responsive web applications using Bubble’s interface. -Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how they are applied in a low-code environment. -Ability to solve complex problems and design efficient workflows within the Bubble ecosystem. -Strong english communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders. Tools: -Proficiency in Bubble.Io platform and its various features, including database management, API connections, and plugin usage. -Familiarity with tools like Figma, n8n, or other platforms that can integrate with Bubble for enhanced functionality.
