Job Overview A key leadership role in the kitchen, overseeing the preparation of menu items and ensuring exceptional quality. Directs and evaluates direct reports, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability. Requires extensive knowledge of culinary techniques and terminology, staying up-to-date with industry trends. Maintains recipe quality and consistency, adhering to established standards and best practices. Works efficiently and productively, completing tasks as needed while prioritizing deadlines. Coordinates team members, assigns tasks, and fosters a collaborative work environment. Reviews recipes daily, maintains accurate records, and ensures seamless execution. Follows through on requests from supervisors or managers, providing clear updates and progress. Monitors production levels, identifies areas for improvement, and implements corrective actions. Prepares electronic requisitions and counterchecks deliveries, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Overses main kitchen sections, ensuring adherence to public health standards and regulations. A minimum of 5 years experience in upscale hotels, resorts, or cruise ships, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership capacity. Culinary school degree required, with a focus on management, nutrition, and food safety. Strong management, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills. Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills, with a customer-centric approach.
