About the Position

The SEO Manager is responsible for managing the SEO function of the company. You will be responsible for managing both technical and off-site SEO. Both are currently outsourced. The on-site SEO analytics and technical SEO are being brought in-house, resulting in this newly-created position.

Working Schedule:

This position is 100% remote .

Core working hours are 8 AM – 5 PM CT (-06:00 GMT). Monday – Friday, with 1 hour for lunch.

Your responsibilities will be focused on several areas:

  • Deep digital marketing and SEO analytics (report development, analysis, and insights) through multiple tools, including SEMrush, AHREFs, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Looker Studio and more.
  • SEO tactical strategy, including keyword research and analysis, competitor analyses, on-site technical optimization and content SEO optimization.
  • Managing off-site SEO vendors and cross-departmental project management.
  • Providing SEO subject matter expertise and thought leadership through written points of view, SEO points of view and webinar/podcast participation.

This position requires strong analytical and technical skills and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate should be able to proactively identify and resolve SEO deficiencies before they become urgent problems.

They should work collaboratively with other managed services team members to resolve customer issues. They should proactively take existing standard operating procedures and methodologies and optimize them, incorporating the latest SEO trends, algorithm changes and other industry developments.

The position leans heavily on your analytics, SEO knowledge, and experience working on large, complex websites and deep analytics.

You are passionate about your craft and often find yourself reading about SEO and digital marketing or playing with new tools and technologies when you're not at work.

Required skills and experience are as follows:

  • Fluent in English: written, verbal and presentation communication.
  • Mastery of Google Analytics GA4, including segmentation, use of filters, creating and editing events and goals, and custom report development.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing analytics, including report development analysis and presentation of insights.
  • Mastery of SEMrush, AHREFs, Screaming Frog and other SEO tools.
  • Deep experience creating and implementing SEO strategies that drive increased domain authority, organic traffic and conversion.
  • MS Office knowledge, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Comfortable communicating with vendors, customers, employees, and other stakeholders at all levels.
  • Current experience with Google Looker Studio, including custom report creation and basic data integration.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for on-site optimization.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript or PHP (for performing more advanced on-site SEO optimization) is a plus.
  • Content optimization experience using Yoast or Rankmath.
  • At least five years of experience as an SEO manager or in a comparable role.
  • Previous staff management experience is a plus.
