Key Data Modeler Role The position of a Data Modeler is responsible for designing and implementing robust data models, as well as developing and maintaining SQL-based solutions with a focus on Google Cloud Platform. Main Responsibilities: Developing scalable relational and dimensional data models, optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions, ensuring data quality and integrity across various sources and reporting layers, collaborating with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Google Cloud Platform Expertise: Utilizing GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Dataflow for data storage, processing, and analysis, implementing and managing cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes on GCP, developing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code solutions for GCP data environments using tools like Terraform, monitoring and optimizing GCP resource performance and cost for data platforms. Collaboration and Communication: Acting as a liaison between business leads, product managers, and data/engineering teams, facilitating demos, knowledge-sharing sessions, and best-practice documentation for data solutions, promoting adoption of new data capabilities and practices, gathering feedback for continuous improvement. Release and Change Management: Coordinating release plans, timelines, and stakeholder readiness for data model and SQL deployments, ensuring training, job aids, and rollout communications are prepared and delivered for data solutions, tracking post-release issues, adoption, and stabilization metrics related to data platforms. Requirements and Nice-to-haves: Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database design and data modeling, demonstrable experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Dataflow), familiarity with infrastructure-as-code solutions (e.g., Terraform), experience with data quality checks and data governance best practices, experience with Git and Git providers (e.g., GitHub/BitBucket/GitLab).
